Only 11 Days till Valentine's Day!

I love mermaids! I believe I designed my first mermaid costume for dolls in 2004. I got the idea from my daughter when she wanted to be a mermaid for Halloween and insisted her doll get an outfit to match her costume. Of course, now everyone is making them. I still like to believe I came up with the idea first...So if you love mermaids too, you may want to get one of my original designs for your favorite doll!

They come in two sizes: 12 inch and 14-15 inch. I designed the Hearts costume with Valentine's Day in mind. Only 11 days till Valentine's Day. You better hurry if you want one for the occasion!

But you can order my mermaid outfits in pink, purple, turquoise or teal for your everyday mermaid. The costume consists of two pieces: A bandeau top which wraps around the torso and a tail section. The tail slips over the legs and voila - you got a mermaid. Ingenious!

Roaring for Boy Clothes!

The little prop toy lion is all happy. He appeared to be roaring when I was taking the pictures. Or am I only imagining things? I have been wanting to make some more doll clothes that appeal to little fellers for quite some time. Finally a customer got me going. She asked for an outfit with toy cars. Then I remembered I had this cute green fabric in my stash. Oh my gosh.!It's soooo sweet. How could I keep in the drawer for so long? And next came out the little zoo pattern. It has a bit of pink in it. But as we all know: Tough guys like pink!

So dear Boys - and Girls, I hope you will enjoy my new two-piece sets that I made with Christmas in mind! Dear Parents, I am sure you will enjoy these cute sets, too, and find them nurturing and fun. Each little boy should have a doll to take care of and love! For surely they will grow up to be loving dads to their children if they get a chance to practice while young!

Creating New Dolls

I have been feeling very creative this week. Despite the heat I made two dolls. Amazing! Oh the things one can get accomplished when getting up at 4 am in the morning...I highly recommend it.
Meet little Esther. She is a new African American doll I just finished. I love sewing ethnic dolls. Unfortunately they are not as popular as blond blue eyed baby dolls. "Adoptions" sometimes take longer...But then again that's not so bad because I get to play with her for longer. =)
