Pink Hair Anyone?

It's been sooooo cold over the last two days. The arctic cold is not much fun. Good thing is I have a lot of wool to play with in my house. Here is what I made over the last two days. At least my hands are staying warm...

I was a little burned out after Christmas. I had no energy left to make dolls because I got so swamped with clothing orders...But it looks like I am back on track making sweet dolls. You saw the custom doll "Jenny" I shipped off the other day. Finally I present you with "Elise". I just listed her in my shop.

I hear that dolls with pink hair are quite the rage now. I am more of an old-fashioned kind of girl and prefer dolls with natural hair colors. When I see pink and blue hair I am reminded of the punk movement. But my daughter tells me it's okay to have dolls with outlandish hair. If only I let her, she'd color her hair in pink like the dolly I just finished. What's your take on the subject of doll hair color?

I'm an old fashioned girl too. I prefer to do natural coloured hair, especially as these dolls last a lifetime. Just like with real hair, fads come and go:)

She is absolutely lovely, pink hair and all. I feel the same way about my knitted bunnies and animals. I like them in "natural" colors, but the pink and blue varieties sell very well too!

I prefer the more natural colors too but the thing is, when the right doll finds the right child to love her, it doesn't matter if the doll has pink hair, brown hair, blue with sparkles or even no hair at all. It will simply be the perfect doll for that child. Elise is a beautiful doll and somewhere out there is a child who will love her forever.

I think she is sweet, it is not as if you are going to be making a lot of dolls with pink or blue hair, I am into the natural way myself. cheers Marie

Glad you like her too! I am thinking of green and blue strands of wool to make a mermaid doll...

i think green and blue for a mermaid sounds delightful!! though i am a natural girl myself, i can say that my child would embrace a doll with brightly colored hair easily. once a bond is made between child and doll i don't believe that the hair color would ever get in the way. ;) we are all different! i'm sure there are lots of folks who like lots of color that would enjoy having hair color options that are a bit more fanciful.
